Est. 2024
Friends of the Boulevard emerged in 2024 from a growing recognition that Houston's most walkable neighborhood deserved advocates who would fight for its unique character while pushing for progressive, inclusive development.
Founded by residents who love Montrose's diversity, creativity, and walkability, we organize around the principle that good urban design should serve everyone—from children walking to school to seniors accessing transit, from cyclists commuting to work to families strolling through the neighborhood.
Our work is rooted in community participation, evidence-based advocacy, and the belief that residents closest to the issues are closest to the solutions. We don't just advocate for change; we build the community power needed to achieve it.
